Description
The modular system was developed as an intelligent power supply for video, audio and lighting applications and is suitable for professional use at events, on tours, and in film and television productions. Depending on the configuration, the system can be operated with power switching modules for audio and video applications or with TruPower dimming/switching modules for lighting applications. This makes it possible to switch LED walls, moving lights and A/V components, while LED fixtures and conventional spotlights can be dimmed. The configuration is not limited to the module level: each individual channel can be set up independently as a power supply, switchpack or dimmer. Operational safety is ensured by RCBOs installed on each channel, which combine line and residual-current protection. In the event of overcurrent or an earth fault, only the affected channel is switched off, without taking the entire module out of service. Continuous overvoltage and undervoltage monitoring permanently checks the input voltage. In the event of problems, such as a broken neutral conductor, the system is switched off immediately to protect connected equipment and users. A 400-A mains switch is optionally available for trade fair construction applications. The earth leakage current of each output is continuously measured. If one or more channels exceed the specified limit, an alarm informs the operator and stores the measured values in the logbook. The patented technology for monitoring earth leakage current makes it possible to intervene before the residual-current circuit breaker trips. Should a shutdown nevertheless occur, both power consumption and fault current are documented, allowing the cause of the fault to be narrowed down more precisely. Channels configured as power supplies can be switched on manually or automatically in a defined sequence. This prevents high inrush currents from tripping the RCBOs. Thanks to ZCSS (Zero-Cross Soft-Start), the internal relays switch at the zero crossing. This enables switching on with as little load as possible and protects the equipment. The proven PTFD dimming technology (Pulse Transformer Fired Dimming) also operates reliably with very small loads and does not require a specified minimum load. Ohmic and inductive loads as well as motors for mirror balls can be operated with it. Various dimming curves and 8-bit and 16-bit resolution are available for different applications. The system also offers flexible application options in combination with LED technology and ballasts. Operation, setup and monitoring are carried out either directly via the 18 cm touchscreen or remotely using the HOUSTON X software. Querying via RDM is also possible. Each channel can be individually configured, controlled and monitored. On request, alarm messages can be forwarded to a technician by SMS. Available control signals include manual inputs, DMX 512-A, ArtNet, sACN and NDI. An integrated APS buffers brief power failures in the control unit. For commissioning the control module via the network, a PoE power supply is sufficient. A 400-A-powerLOCK mains input is not essential for this purpose. The integrated network switch has a three-phase power supply and therefore supports a high level of operational safety. Developed and manufactured in Australia, the system features a sturdy steel chassis and is mounted in a professional flight case. The individual modules can be replaced in less than one minute. They are connected via guide rails and robust Wieland connectors. The module configuration is stored both in the control unit and in the load units, so that replacement in the event of a fault is possible without setting up the system again. The scope of delivery includes a 400-A-powerLOCK power input as well as Wieland-HAN-16-E connectors. A GST-16/3 patch panel can be integrated optionally. Additional outputs for peripheral devices and a generously dimensioned earthing screw are located on the rear. Each RCBO is illuminated by its own LED indicator. The brightness of the indicators can be adjusted, ensuring a good overview without disturbing glare.
