Description
The modular 24-/48-channel system was developed as an intelligent power supply for video, audio and lighting applications and is suitable for use at events, on tour, as well as in film and TV productions. Depending on its configuration, the system can be operated with power switching modules for audio and video applications or with TruPower dimming/switching modules for lighting technology. A common platform allows LED walls, moving lights and A/V components to be switched, as well as LED fixtures and conventional spotlights to be dimmed. Each individual channel can be configured as a power supply, switchpack or dimmer, regardless of the module used. For the safety of operating personnel and connected equipment, each channel is equipped with an RCBO. This combination of circuit breaker and residual-current circuit breaker disconnects only the affected channel in the event of overcurrent or earth fault, rather than the entire module. Continuous monitoring of the input voltage detects overvoltage and undervoltage and immediately switches off the system in the event of faults, for example in the event of a broken neutral conductor. An optional 400-A mains switch also allows use in exhibition stand construction. The earth leakage current of each output is continuously recorded in real time. If one or more channels exceeds the defined limit value, an alarm message is generated; at the same time, the measured values are saved in the logbook. The patented “earth leakage current monitoring” technology thereby enables timely intervention before the residual-current circuit breaker trips. If a channel is nevertheless switched off, the system logs both the current consumption and the fault current in order to better narrow down the cause of the fault. Channels configured as power supplies can be switched on manually or automatically in a defined sequence. This prevents the RCBOs from tripping due to high inrush currents. The integrated relays use ZCSS (Zero-Cross Soft-Start) and switch on the load at the zero crossing. This enables low-load and material-friendly switching on. The proven PTFD (Pulse Transformer Fired Dimming) method is used for the dimming function. Unlike dimmers with a specified minimum load, the system can also be operated with very small loads. Ohmic and inductive loads as well as motors for mirror balls can also be used. Various dimming curves and a resolution of 8 or 16 Bit are available. Setup and control are performed directly on the 18 cm touchscreen or via the HOUSTON X software package for configuration and remote monitoring. Querying via RDM is also possible. Each channel can be individually configured, controlled and monitored. Alarm messages can optionally be forwarded to a technician via an SMS service. Manual inputs, DMX 512-A, ArtNet, sACN and NDI are available for control. The control unit also has an integrated APS that buffers short-term power failures. For configuration, only a PoE power source is required, through which the control module is started via the network. A 400-A-powerLOCK mains input is not essential for this. The integrated network switch has a three-phase power supply and therefore also ensures a high level of operational safety in this area. Developed and manufactured in Australia, the system features a sturdy steel chassis in a professional flight case. The individual modules can be replaced in less than one minute. The connection is made via heavy-duty sliding rails and robust Wieland connectors. All module configurations are stored both in the control module and in the load units, so that replacement in the event of a fault is possible without renewed setup. The scope of delivery includes 400-A-powerLOCK and Wieland-HAN-16-E connectors. A GST-16/3 patch panel can optionally be integrated. Additional outputs for peripheral devices and a generously dimensioned grounding screw are located on the rear. The individual RCBOs are separately illuminated with dedicated LEDs, ensuring glare-free visibility. The brightness of the indicators can be adjusted.
