Description
Special feature: cotton-composite diaphragm The D72CT is a 1.4-inch compression driver for the high-frequency range, suitable for professional loudspeakers as well as custom-built two- and multi-way systems. Offered is a like-new test sample with full warranty. The version has a nominal impedance of 8 Ω, an AES power handling of 100 W and a program power handling of 200 W. Sensitivity is 109.5 dB, while the transferable frequency range covers 0.5 to 18 kHz. For system planning, a crossover from 1000 Hz is recommended. The crossover should operate with at least 12 dB per octave. The design features a 72-mm voice coil, a diaphragm made of cotton composite material and a flux density of 1.85 T. In addition, the driver is equipped with a special corrosion-protection coating. The driver measures 180 mm externally, requires 81.5 mm installation depth and weighs 6.9 kg net. Mounting is possible via four M6 mounting points on a bolt circle with a diameter of 101.6 mm. This makes the model suitable for PA high-frequency sections, top cabinets and monitors, as well as for suitable HiFi and DIY loudspeakers with a 1.4-inch horn. A suitable 1.4-inch horn is required for this; the recommended crossover frequency and the electrical design must also be taken into account. In sound reinforcement applications, it can be used in top cabinets, monitors and modular PA systems, provided that horn geometry, dispersion characteristics and crossover are coordinated with one another. For HiFi and DIY projects, the driver is suitable for individually developed horn loudspeakers and multi-way designs. When designing the crossover or DSP, the range from 0.5 to 18 kHz, the sensitivity of 109.5 dB and the 8-Ω impedance should be taken into account. Thanks to the four M6 mounting points on the 101.6-mm bolt circle, the model can be integrated into suitable horns and baffles. However, universal compatibility with every horn is not provided.
