Description

The Beyma CD-2514Fe/PK was developed as a 1.4-inch compression driver for demanding high-frequency applications. With an 8 Ω nominal impedance, it handles 80 W AES from 0.8 kHz or 100 W AES from 1.2 kHz. The respective program power ratings are 160 W and 200 W. An efficiency of 109 dB and a frequency range of 600 to 20000 Hz provide good conditions for performance-oriented sound reinforcement systems. For operation, a crossover from 800 Hz is recommended. The crossover should operate with at least 12 dB per octave. The driver features a 63.5-mm voice coil, a ferrite magnet, a high-temperature polymer diaphragm and Deplocex® technology. Its defined electrical, acoustic and mechanical properties allow it to be used in professional multi-way PA systems as well as in suitably designed HiFi and DIY horn projects. For PA applications, under suitable conditions, it is suitable among other things for top cabinets, full-range systems and passive or actively crossed-over sound reinforcement solutions. The horn, crossover and protection circuit must be matched to one another. It can also be used in self-developed horn loudspeakers as well as high-performance HiFi and DIY multi-way systems. The efficiency of 109 dB, the frequency range up to 20000 Hz and the 63.5-mm voice coil provide important foundations for planning. The specific tuning depends on the horn used, the desired acoustic target curve and the DSP or crossover concept employed. General compatibility with any third-party systems cannot be guaranteed on this basis.
