At trade fairs and large events, cables are often exposed to considerable mechanical stress. If a forklift drives over the laid cable or a heavy flight case falls on it, sensitive optical fibers can be damaged. If no replacement is available afterward, the signal usually cannot be restored at short notice in an exhibition hall, as specialized tools would be required for a repair. A practical solution for such situations are HDMI fiber optic cables with flexible metal armoring. The Dresden-based company Bildkraft is one of the first companies in German-speaking Europe to offer highly flexible HDMI-AOC fiber optic cables with such protection. The construction can be roughly compared to a shower hose: An additional, sturdy yet flexible metal armoring is wound around the Kevlar-reinforced cable. This construction is already used at large events and has proven itself there. The optical signal transmission enables image resolutions of up to 4K at 60 Hz. The cables are easy to use: EDID and HDCP management means they work with standard Windows PCs and Apple computers. Resolutions outside the VESA standard are also supported.
