For users of the LS500 with damaged 15" chassis, we have compiled the following options: The chassis used in the LS500 have very specific parameters to which the enclosure is precisely matched. An ill-considered replacement with any alternatives that appear suitable at first glance can lead to considerable problems. Cancellations and lower overall system performance are not uncommon. Therefore, the use of chassis that are as close to the original as possible is generally recommended. Currently, only one model is still available as a new part. Our options: 1.) HPB15N-3 The chassis currently used in the LS500. The impedance is 8 Ohm. Depending on the system configuration, it may be necessary to replace the chassis in all LS500 so that uniform interaction is ensured. Price per unit including 19 % VAT: €571.20 VB. 2.) Reconing a defective HPB15N-3 Provided that the chassis is suitable for reconing and is sent to us in advance, we offer refurbishment at a price of €299.00 including 19 % VAT. 3.) Replacement chassis offered by us: a.) RM NE 15764F Cost-effective ferrite replacement chassis with 4 Ohm. Compared with the original configuration, this results in somewhat more “MidBass” performance with a slightly lower subwoofer component. As a rule, it can be combined well with LS500 with the original configuration, but should be operated rather conservatively. Not continuously available from stock; when reordered, the delivery time is up to 12 weeks. Minimum order: 6 units. Price including 19 % VAT: €289.00 per unit. b.) RM NE 15764N Lightweight neodymium chassis with 4 Ohm and almost equivalent performance. The differences are barely noticeable and tend to be positive. As a rule, the model can be combined with existing original chassis without any problems. As this is a custom-made product, it is not always in stock; in that case, the delivery time is approximately 4 to 10 weeks. Price including 19 % VAT: €329.00. c.) HPB15N-RM4 With the help of a recone kit manufactured specifically for us, the current chassis can also be built with 4 Ohm impedance. 1 unit HPB15N-RM4, 4 Ohm, freshly reconed: €395.00 if available. If a defective, reconeable HPB15N-3 with 8 Ohm is sent to us beforehand, the price is €355.00 including 19 % VAT.
