Our specialists in our in-house master workshop support you with a comprehensive service covering the repair, reconing and refurbishment of speaker drivers. We work in particular on models and special designs from manufacturers such as 18sound (Eighteensound), B&C, Beyma, Ciare, faital, NEXO, PHL, Precision Devices, RCF, as well as special components for cabinet manufacturers such as d&b or Martin. Our working method differs significantly from that of many previously refurbished drivers that occasionally reach us from other providers. Before every recone, all relevant areas are cleaned particularly carefully and meticulously prepared. Depending on the application, we use up to three different types of adhesive so that the respective requirements are taken into account as effectively as possible. We also rectify known weak points of individual drivers. On request, the diaphragm can additionally be impregnated, for example to increase durability or for other technical reasons. Once the work has been completed, each driver is carefully packed and given double protection for shipping. Original Recone-Kits from the respective manufacturer are normally used for the work. If these are not available or other reasons speak against their use, we resort to suitable alternative solutions. For high-quality speakers and drivers from approximately 15“ upwards, reconing is economically worthwhile in most cases. With smaller versions, however, environmental and sustainability aspects are often the main consideration. Products from the low-budget sector, drivers with sheet-metal baskets, small diameters or unusual exotics generally do not pay off. We already have ready-reconed examples of some widely used drivers in stock. This allows for a particularly fast exchange service; you can find the current stock in our other listings. In addition, we also carry out cost-effective repairs, such as damaged surrounds as part of a “Smart Repair”. We have more than 25 years of experience handling NEXO components. We have been carrying out the relevant service work for many years and would therefore expressly like to point out a frequent problem: We are repeatedly presented with drivers that do not correspond to the original components. Due to incorrect or incomplete information on the internet, other drivers or Recone-Kits are sometimes used as supposed original NEXO components. However, these do not correspond to the NEXO parameters and may differ, among other things, in terms of impedances, coatings, additional components or other special features. We strongly advise against such alleged “insider tips”, which ultimately are merely based on inaccurate claims. The drivers concerned have neither comparable power handling nor identical coatings, frequency responses or service lives. When they are used, fire incidents cannot be ruled out either. The higher prices for original NEXO material are therefore objectively justified. You would like to have one of your defective speaker drivers reconed Not every driver can be reconed. Reconing is not possible, for example, if magnets are chipped or split, the basket is warped or there are residues in the magnetic gap that cannot be removed. Some models also have versions that are fundamentally not suitable for reconing. A final assessment is only possible once the defective driver has arrived at our premises and been inspected. Please therefore send us the driver for assessment and ensure extremely sturdy packaging. Every parcel must be able to withstand a fall from a height of at least 1 m without the driver being damaged. Pad the driver as generously as possible and, if possible, use double packaging. If no fixed price for reconing or replacement is stated in the respective listing, we normally do not prepare a separate quotation, as comparable costs usually arise. The respective Recone-Kit or diaphragm is charged at market-standard prices, based on German internet offers. Depending on the scope of work, an additional €80.00 to €100.00 including 19% VAT is charged for labour, small materials, disposal and comparable expenses. Shipping costs are charged separately. Shipping is always carried out at your risk. For particularly rare drivers, such as NEXO SI-2000 and models from the first MSI and TS series, we recommend personal delivery or collection whenever possible.
