The BLU-160 is a flexible Soundweb London platform with configurable inputs and outputs, programmable signal processing, and a high-bandwidth digital audio bus designed with fault tolerance in mind. Its open architecture is configured in HiQnet™ London Architect. The software combines a broad selection of processing and logic objects with an intuitive drag-and-drop workflow, creating a clear and familiar environment for system design. A 256-channel digital audio bus provides low-latency, fault-tolerant signal transmission. It operates over standard Category 5e network cabling and supports distances of up to 100 m between compatible devices. With fiber-optic media converters, the link distance can be extended beyond 40 km. Four expansion slots make it possible to adapt the unit to a wide range of I/O requirements. Each slot accepts one of six available cards: - Analog Input Card - Analog Output Card - Digital Input Card - Digital Output Card - AEC Input Card - Telephone Hybrid Card Every card provides four channels. Analog input modules offer software-controlled gain adjustment in 6 dB increments, up to +48 dB per channel, as well as individually selectable phantom power. Digital input and output cards support AES/EBU and/or S/PDIF signals and include various clocking and synchronization options. Front-panel LEDs give direct access to channel status information without requiring a computer, including phantom power, synchronization, signal presence, and clipping. The display also shows device-specific data such as the device name, device type, firmware version, time, IP address, and subnet mask. A two-way locate function makes it possible to identify the unit locally or from within HiQnet London Architect. For integration with GPIO-compatible equipment, the processor provides 12 control inputs and 6 logic outputs. The HiQnet London Architect installation also includes the Soundweb London Interface Kit, along with comprehensive documentation explaining how Soundweb London systems can be connected to third-party control systems.
