Common and reliable CompactFlash cards are used as the recording medium. Since the unit has no mechanical drive, it operates with particularly high reliability. WAV and MP3 files are supported for both recording and playback. Thanks to its space-saving design, the unit can be installed in a rack using just one rack unit. It is ideally suited as a replacement for existing cassette, MD or CD recorders. Long-duration recordings are possible for meeting recordings; for sound reinforcement applications, long-duration playback and numerous playback modes are available: - All tracks - Single track - Random playback - All tracks within a directory - Playlist - Repeat function WAV files can be edited directly on the memory card. Splitting and joining files, as well as deleting and renaming them, are supported. A sample rate converter is integrated at the input. Pitch-Control allows the pitch and playback speed to be changed together, while Key-Control adjusts only the pitch. Auto-Cue automatically locates the beginning of a track, while Auto-Ready automatically switches to pause mode after a track has been selected, ensuring convenient operation. Playback can start immediately after switching on. In addition, fades in and out are possible during playback. Synchronized recording is supported. Track marks can be set automatically using the Auto-Track function—level-, time- or digitally controlled—and can also be added manually if required. An instant start function is available for direct playback start. The connections include a balanced analog XLR input and output, an unbalanced analog Cinch input and output, as well as a coaxial digital SPDIF input and output. The equipment is supplemented by an analog mono mix output, a serial RS-232C interface with a 9-pin Sub-D connector and a 25-pin parallel Sub-D interface. A computer keyboard can be connected via the PS/2 connector for naming folders and files and for remote control. A wired remote control is included.
