Such speakers are used in a wide range of rental and installation applications: on small stages in combination with a subwoofer, as a fill solution at the sides or at the edge of the stage, and as a stage monitor. Inside, both drivers have been renewed and fitted with state-of-the-art neodymium magnets. The crossover has also been newly developed. The revised protection circuit ensures reliable protection, particularly for the high-frequency driver, and automatically resets after an overload has ended. There is also a recessed slide switch on the rear. It can be used to select whether the signal is supplied via pins 1± or 2± of the Speakon connectors. This allows the box to be easily adapted to the pin assignment of a subwoofer when both components are powered via a four-core cable. It is likewise possible to daisy-chain several speakers and define for each one which of the two signal paths supplies the individual box. Unlike many current speaker models, no special system amplifier is required for operation. The system already features a balanced frequency response and the necessary protection circuits. This compact sound reinforcement solution has been used for more than two decades – a long time in a fast-moving market.
