Audio-Streber repair service for event technology Our range of services extends from minor repairs to the complete restoration of loudspeakers. One focus is on reconing loudspeakers from various manufacturers, including Eighteensound, BMS, Beyma, Electro Voice, Dynacord, B&C, Faital, Eminence, Ciare and many others. Depending on the damage, we offer the following work: - Reconing - Refoaming - Voice coil replacement - Restoration of enclosures - Impregnation and coating of cones and surrounds Reconing: We source original recone kits through the German distributors of the respective manufacturers. For labour, small materials and disposal, we charge between 40.00 and 80.00 € plus shipping costs, depending on the work involved and size. For older loudspeaker models, reconing is often the only repair option still available. The recone kits are supplied as individual parts and require extensive experience during assembly. Individual kits: Individually assembled kits are measured using the original parts and matched against the available components. Individual components often still have to be adapted before installation to enable a repair that is as true to the original as possible. Further information about the recone kit: During reconing, the complete moving assembly of a loudspeaker is replaced. This replaces all moving components and therefore those at risk of wear. After the repair, the loudspeaker is practically like new in this area. Tweeters are carefully cleaned and fitted with a new diaphragm. A repair is also possible without a complete recone, for example by refoaming or replacing the voice coil. Refoaming – replacing surrounds: We work with German surround manufacturers and source guaranteed true-to-original replacement surrounds from them. Further information about the surround: The surround forms the outer, flexible area of the chassis. It connects the cone or moving assembly to the basket and enables the movement of the cone. Voice coil replacement: Using individually adapted tools for the respective loudspeakers, we can carry out cost-effective repairs without complete reconing in many cases. Only the voice coil is replaced. The costs are significantly lower than those of a complete recone kit. The replacement requires extensive specialist knowledge as well as specially manufactured sleeves for the precise insertion of the new voice coil. Restoration: We repair older PA systems and loudspeaker enclosures and carry out restorations. Dents and damage to wood and paint surfaces can generally be refurbished. Felt coverings and acoustic front foam can be re-covered and glued. Rubber feet are always replaced. New Speakon sockets can also be installed. What does a restoration cost? A flat-rate price cannot be specified. We charge 15 € for a basic equipment inspection. The repair hourly rate is 18 €. Billing is in 30-minute units. Impregnation and coating: Upon request, we impregnate the surround and cone to increase weather resistance and durability. Warning: The additional coating increases the weight of the moving assembly. This can change the TSP data of the driver. Is a repair worthwhile? Whether a repair is worthwhile depends on the respective condition and damage. Chassis from 10" or with a new value of approximately 200 € are economically worthwhile to repair in many cases. For older or less expensive equipment, it must be considered on a case-by-case basis whether the relationship between effort and benefit is appropriate. The prerequisite is that neither the basket nor the magnet is damaged. If you are unsure, we recommend contacting us before sending in the equipment. Low-budget products, small diameters, loudspeakers with sheet-metal baskets or unusual niche products are generally not economical to repair. Sheets to measure: Loudspeaker sheets can be ordered by arrangement according to the desired structure and custom dimensions.
