The DSF-1 microphone system uses patented SoundField technology, which combines special acoustic, electronic and mechanical design principles. The system offers B-Format™ outputs and a fully controllable stereo output for recording and headphone monitoring. The processor allows comprehensive adjustment of the polar pattern, stereo width, tilt angle and rotation of the stereo output. For maximum flexibility, the microphone can be operated in “End-Fire” or “Inverted” mode, as well as in conventional orientation. The B-Format™ signals can be recorded and subsequently processed in a DAW using the supplied SurroundZone plug-in. This makes it possible to create different surround formats from the original recording. Sampling rates from 44.1 kHz to 192 kHz are supported. In addition, synchronisation via an external Wordclock is possible. Extensive metering functions, switchable high-pass filters and an integrated limiter are also included. The limiter prevents unexpectedly loud signals from causing clipping.
