The familiar strengths were retained while the weaknesses identified by customers were further improved. In particular, the sound perceived as too dry was intended to be softer, warmer and more musical in the lower and mid-frequency range. Following an intensive development and research phase, a new transducer was created for this purpose, combining different sonic characteristics. The GTC driver (Gold-Titanium-Compound) uses the gold-coated part of the diaphragm in the bass and midrange. The titanium-coated section is used for the upper and highest frequencies. As a result, the Edition 15 combines pleasant warmth and musicality with high precision. Whether the semi-open or closed version is better suited depends on personal listening preferences and the respective conditions. Both versions feature cherry wood earcup frames with a finely sanded, soft and waxed surface, metal plaques, an aluminium headband and magnetically attached earpads. The scope of delivery includes LEMO connectors for the detachable 1.4-metre cable (balanced ready) or the 3.0-metre cable, as well as a leather-covered case for safe storage.
