The Fostex HP-A3 combines a high-quality D/A converter with a powerful headphone amplifier and enables uncomplicated connection to a computer via USB 2.0. The converter unit is designed for demanding music enjoyment on a home PC and operates with a resolution of 32 Bit. In addition to the USB connection, optical digital inputs and outputs in S/PDIF format, analogue line outputs via RCA, and a particularly low-noise and low-distortion headphone output are available. The inputs and outputs are conveniently selected at the touch of a button on the front panel. The volume of the headphone output can also be adjusted there. The internal processing is generally carried out at 96 kHz. Signals with a lower resolution are converted accordingly (upsampling). Thanks to plug-and-play, no separate driver is required. Power is supplied directly via the USB interface, so no additional power supply is required.
