U168 XT 16x8 USB Audio Interface Ex-demo unit / including original packaging (OVP) The professionally equipped audio interface offers a total of 16 balanced line inputs, making it suitable, for example, as an interface for analogue mixing consoles or extensive synthesizer setups. Up to four inputs are available for microphone recordings: There are two combo sockets on the front, which can also be used to connect high-impedance instruments such as electric guitar or electric bass if required. Two additional inputs are designed as dedicated XLR microphone inputs. The 48-V phantom power can be activated separately for each input. Low-noise microphone preamps and high-quality 24-bit converters provide a dynamic range of 107 dB (A/D) and 112 dB (D/A), respectively. The ten balanced line outputs allow both studio monitors to be connected and separate headphone mixes to be output when several musicians are involved in a recording. Two headphone outputs, each with its own volume control, are located on the front panel. By default, the stereo sum of the computer signal is output there, allowing recordings to be monitored directly. Using the respective MIX button, the sum signal of the integrated monitor mixer can instead be routed to the corresponding headphone output. The monitor mixer features the three controls IN 1-8 and IN 9-16 for the input signals, as well as OUT 1-8 for the signals coming from the computer, such as playback. Practical for monitoring: The input signals 1/2 and 3/4 can each be switched separately to mono using a button. This causes them to be reproduced centrally rather than strictly on the left or right in the headphone signal. The device can also be used as a MIDI interface. Two 5-pin DIN sockets for MIDI In and MIDI Out are available on the rear panel for this purpose. Coaxial S/PDIF connections in RCA format also allow digital input and output of stereo signals.
