The C.A.S.T. Intro Bundle offers the essential components for building a modern audio network via Cat5 network cables and for transforming virtually any room into a studio environment using standard network cables. The set includes the central N8 network hub as well as the N22 and N22H breakout boxes. In addition, two 10 m Cat-6 cables and further accessories are included, enabling an uncomplicated introduction to the C.A.S.T. system. C.A.S.T. allows analog patch points and stage boxes to be placed exactly where they are needed. Up to four XLR connections can be routed via a single network cable. This reduces cabling requirements, ensures a clear installation and facilitates mobile recordings while maintaining consistent sound quality. The N8 is equipped with DB25 inputs and outputs and transfers 8 analog inputs as well as 8 analog outputs into the C.A.S.T. system. This enables convenient plug-and-play signal routing with other compatible devices. Four separate C.A.S.T. connections allow up to four breakout boxes to be connected simultaneously. This makes 16-channel audio routing with audio interfaces, mixing consoles or other audio installations possible. The N22H combines the function of a C.A.S.T. breakout box with a high-quality headphone amplifier and is particularly suitable for setting up a vocal booth. It can be connected to the N8 via a single network cable. This allows an artist, a vocal microphone and headphones to be located in one room, while the microphone signal is received from another room and a headphone mix is sent there at the same time. The N22 is a completely passive stage box. It can be connected to the N8 and placed in the recording room, hallway or a vocal booth. This allows microphones and speakers to be connected to the control room over distances of up to 100 m. C.A.S.T. enables high-quality plug-and-play transmission of audio signals between two points with minimal cabling. 48-V phantom power in both directions is also supported, for example for active DI boxes and condenser microphones. Since Cat-5e, Cat-6 and Cat-7 network cables are widely available, a complete studio cabling solution can be less expensive than a comparable solution with extensive XLR cable runs. Thanks to its completely passive construction, no power supply is required for operation or the C.A.S.T. connection. The robust bundle can be used on stage or installed in a rack using the included half-rack kit. This provides a flexible cabling solution that can transform virtually any room into a studio.
