Only one unit is available; it was made for a Vieta speaker. The 15-inch mid-low frequency transducer features a 100 mm (4 in) voice coil and a 380 mm (15 in) diameter. It was developed for low-bass applications that also require substantial extension through the mid-frequency range. The driver is suitable for compact bass-reflex enclosures, two-way systems using 1.4–2-inch compression drivers, and stage-monitoring applications. It can also be used in horn-loaded multi-way systems. Its low-profile, smooth-curvilinear cone is reinforced with carbon fiber, providing a smooth response across the intended operating range along with high strength and reliable performance under significant mechanical stress. A copper shorting ring on the plates reduces inductance and improves transient response, while also helping to lower intermodulation distortion. The magnetic assembly incorporates Double Demodulating Rings (DDR) embedded in the pole piece. This design further reduces intermodulation and harmonic distortion, improves transient response, and contributes to the driver’s low-distortion, high-quality sound. The 100 mm aluminum voice coil uses Interleaved Sandwich Voice Coil (ISV) technology. A high-strength fiberglass former carries windings on both its inner and outer surfaces, creating a balanced coil with evenly distributed mass and motive energy. The result is a highly linear motor system. Heat dissipation is enhanced by air channels located between the basket and the magnetic top plate. Additional cooling is provided by vents in the back plate, directing air toward the lower section of the voice-coil gap. The magnetic structure has also been carefully engineered to maximize flux concentration and force factor within the gap. Because high-power audio systems are increasingly used at outdoor events, the driver is designed to operate reliably in demanding weather conditions. Special protective treatments help the cone and magnetic plate resist corrosion, while the cone is also made water-repellent.
