As battery-powered continuity testers, they enable straightforward testing of power cables that are otherwise difficult to test without applying dangerous mains voltage. Each of the three conductors is checked for continuity, short circuits, and faulty wiring. Operation is particularly simple: plug in the cable, and the test begins. Three green and one red LED indicate correct wiring or existing faults. No additional buttons or rotary controls are required for the testing process. With a correctly wired power cable, all three green LEDs light up. The indicator for the protective conductor is activated first, followed by neutral and phase. This confirms that the earth connection is established first and disconnected last. For operation, the TLP and TLT each require a standard 9-volt battery, which is housed inside the enclosure. To insert or replace the battery, remove the six enclosure screws and connect the battery to the battery clip. Then put the bottom of the enclosure back on and secure it with the supplied screws. Please do not use longer screws, as these may damage or pierce the battery. The integrated battery test button can be used to check whether the power supply is sufficient for reliable cable testing. If the ground LED lights up when the button is pressed, the battery is functional.
