The MA NPU (Network Processing Unit) centralizes processing power within the network and provides performance comparable to grandMA2 consoles. It supports 4,096 HTP/LTP parameters and serves as an interface between Ethernet-based and DMX-controlled devices. In decentralized DMX installations, incoming Ethernet data is converted into DMX data and distributed via eight independent DMX connectors. Each connector can be configured as either a DMX input or output, allowing flexible integration into different network configurations. Multiple grandMA2 consoles can share the available MA NPU units within one network. For parameter expansion, the NPU can be positioned centrally, while MA xPort Nodes distribute DMX data to the required output locations. This arrangement allows several consoles to use the same DMX devices and provides redundant operation without additional components such as DMX mergers. The built-in 7-inch touchscreen provides clear access to important information and supports intuitive operation. The rear panel features eight 5-pin XLR DMX connectors, an etherCON connection, USB ports and powerCON connections.
