It combines analog and digital audio connections, MIDI I/O, and Pro Tools LE software, with the computer connection handled through a single FireWire cable. The interface features eight high-quality analog inputs and outputs, including four microphone preamps with phantom power. Digital connectivity includes eight channels of ADAT LightPipe I/O at up to 48 kHz, two-channel coaxial S/PDIF, WordClock input and output, plus MIDI input and output. Two headphone outputs are provided, each with its own source selection and level control. The unit also includes a studio monitor output and an additional alternate control-room output. Pro Tools LE supports simultaneous recording and playback of up to 32 audio tracks, along with 256 MIDI tracks. RTAS plug-ins can be used in real time, while AudioSuite provides additional processing options. The software also includes extensive editing and mixing tools, works on both Windows and Mac OS X systems, and offers session compatibility with Digidesign Pro Tools HD setups.
