The automatic mixing controller regulates multiple microphone channels simultaneously and relieves the technician at the mixing console of the ongoing adjustment of the faders. The signal processor offers eight analog, unbalanced or 16 digital ADAT channels. It is connected via the insert points of a mixing console. The device independently detects which microphones are currently being used and performs fast, virtually inaudible crossfades. This allows the sound technician to focus more on sound shaping instead of continuously readjusting the volume levels via the faders. During operation, the Automixer prevents fade-ups that start too late, cueing errors, and unwanted side effects such as those that can occur with conventional noise gates. In addition, it helps reduce feedback in PA systems and disturbing studio noises.
