The AKG CK99 L is suitable for speakers, presentations and theatre performances. The slight boost in the high frequencies ensures transparent reproduction and improves speech intelligibility. Thanks to the wide pickup angle of 125°, sound transmission remains even, even with inexperienced or very active speakers. The cardioid polar pattern primarily picks up sound from the front. This makes the microphone less susceptible to feedback while also providing better isolation from ambient noise. A bass-range reduction additionally reduces distracting handling noise caused by movement. At just 2.5 g, the AKG CK99 L is barely noticeable when worn. Thanks to its compact dimensions, it can be discreetly attached to clothing with the retaining clip. The condenser microphone requires a power supply or phantom power of 9–52 Volt. Via the Mini-XLR plug, it can be connected to the bodypack transmitter of a wireless system or to a phantom power supply.
