All Technics SL models rely on a precise, reliable and durable quartz direct drive. The turntable is equipped with a die-cast aluminium housing and a heavy rubber base for effective vibration damping. The proven construction is based on the well-known and record-breaking best-selling SL1210MK2. In addition, the model offers an anti-skate of 0.6 g instead of 0.3 g on the SL1210MK2, an adjustable brake speed accessible directly beneath the platter, as well as continuously variable pitch control with a reset control for maximum precision. A durable white LED stylus light rounds off the features. Finished in the classic black Technics finish. In the relevant year, the SL1200GLD was also introduced as a limited version of the SL1210MK5G, which had been released shortly beforehand. Gold-plated metal parts and an individual serial number plaque of the Limited Edition make it a special collector’s item.
