The TLP (Tester Line-Pcon) and TLT (Tester Line-True) models were developed for three-pole power cables with Neutrik PowerCON® and True1®, respectively. The battery-powered continuity testers enable convenient checking of power cables whose testing without the use of dangerous mains voltage would be cumbersome or risky. Each of the three conductors is checked for continuity, short circuits, and faulty wiring. Operation is particularly straightforward: plug in the cable, and the test begins immediately. Three green LEDs and one red LED indicate whether the wiring is correct or whether a fault is present. Since the testing process runs automatically, neither buttons need to be pressed nor rotary controls adjusted. With a correctly wired power cable, all three green LEDs light up. The indicator for the protective conductor is activated first, followed by the neutral conductor and the live conductor. This confirms that the earth connection is closed first and disconnected last. TLP and TLT each require a single 9-Volt battery for operation, which is housed in the enclosure. To insert or replace the battery, remove the six enclosure screws and connect the battery to the battery clip. Then replace the bottom of the enclosure and secure it with the supplied screws. Do not use longer screws, as these could damage or puncture the battery. The existing battery test button can be used to check whether the battery still provides sufficient power for a proper cable test. If the earth LED lights up when the test button is pressed, the battery is functional.
