Description

Configurable digital snakes with high-quality microphone preamps positioned on stage and controlled remotely; Lightweight, cost-effective Cat5e distribution without the high-frequency losses associated with analog snakes; 48-channel mixing console with 18 buses, 8 matrices, DSP on channels and buses, 4 stereo effects processors, 4 graphic EQs, integrated stereo recording and playback, plus a built-in multichannel split port; Up to 40 channels of unrestricted digital splitting via Cat5e for monitor and broadcast positions, personal mixing, or computer recording without additional audio interfaces; Complete project compatibility and interchangeability with the M-400 V-Mixer; RS-232 connectivity for integration with external control systems, including wall-mounted or podium touch panels; and Rack-mountable design. The M-380 is suitable for a wide range of applications. Boardrooms and conference rooms — Installed in an A/V rack, the unit can be operated remotely through a touch panel via RS-232. Its high channel count makes it well suited to large meeting spaces with numerous microphones and audio sources. Schools — Mounted in a rolling rack case, it can be transported between an auditorium, cafeteria, gymnasium, or other locations. Portable churches — A compact and highly mobile solution that provides extensive channel capacity. Event setup is fast and straightforward thanks to simple Cat5e connections between the stage digital snakes and the console. Easy to Use The M-380 V-Mixer is designed for quick, intuitive operation, whether used by a beginner or an experienced professional. Dedicated controls are provided for the console’s main functions, along with 13 touch-sensitive moving faders, an integrated Help function, a large bright TFT LCD display, and Cat5e connectivity for economical installations and genuinely portable systems. Outstanding Sound Quality The complete digital signal path preserves 24-bit audio from the stage through the splits and back again. Stage-mounted preamps deliver high sound quality and clear intelligibility, while the Cat5e snake avoids the high-frequency losses typical of analog snakes. Integrated digital processing, channel DSP, and routing help prevent hum caused by additional cabling and losses associated with analog-to-digital conversion. Built-in 24-bit recording captures live events without loss. The digital split provides lossless transmission to monitoring, recording, and broadcast positions, while the Bus and Main LRC return over Cat5e maintains a fully digital route back to the stage. Powerful Digital Benefits Switch between events instantly using 300 Scenes, with complete recall of mixer, effects, and routing parameters. Password-based access levels restrict users to the controls relevant to their roles. Dedicated PC software supports setup loading and saving as well as real-time operation. Libraries allow custom channel, patchbay, and effects settings to be stored for later use. Direct recording to a computer over Cat5e supports up to 40 channels of digital audio. RS-232 Control System integrators can build custom control interfaces using standard system-control touch panels connected through the RS-232 port. Scenes can be recalled, volume levels adjusted, channels or groups muted, and numerous other mixing parameters controlled remotely. The unit may be installed discreetly inside a concealed rack, with all operation handled from an interface designed by the system integrator. Vintage Effects Six popular classic effects have been accurately emulated and included in the system, drawing on Roland’s extensive experience in developing widely used effect processors. The system also supports and manages multiple M-48 Live Personal Mixers for advanced monitoring applications. Musicians can create individual stage mixes with high sound quality and flexibility, controlling up to 40 audio sources arranged across 16 assignable stereo groups. Setup is simple, and all connected M-48 units can be controlled, saved, and recalled from an M-400 or M-380 V-Mixer, allowing the FOH engineer to assist with configuration and mixing. Using IEMs (In-Ear Monitors) significantly reduces the amount of sound captured by stage microphones. This helps prevent feedback while maintaining excellent sound quality for live performances and recording.
