When connected to a grandMA2 network session, videos, images and 3D objects can be scaled, repositioned, tiled, recoloured and otherwise modified directly from the console. Operation follows the familiar fixture-control workflow: no additional parameters are required. Users familiar with grandMA2 can work with the unit immediately. The Plus version supports video output up to Full HD, 1,080p, while the basic version provides HD output up to 720p. Internal output synchronisation via MA-Net2 provides precise frame and DMX synchronisation. Horizontal and vertical soft-edge blending, together with keystone correction, make it possible to adapt video content to almost any required size. The integrated 3D keystone functionality allows content to be fitted to three-dimensional objects of different shapes and dimensions. Frame interpolation improvements and smooth playback-speed control provide additional flexibility during operation. A broad selection of effects and processing tools is available, including frame blending, colour boost, dynamic colour key, contrast, brightness, hue, saturation, blur, sepia, black and white, ocean and invert effects. Video files and still images can be combined and controlled together. Supported image formats include JPEG, standard Windows bitmap files such as *.bmp, and *.gif. Content playback supports up to 32 3D video layers. The MA VPU basic version supports up to 8 layers. Programming is possible from a grandMA2 console in both blind and preview modes. The unit follows the console’s blind and preview states, helping to streamline the programming process.
