It is particularly suitable for live performances, certain recording situations, and applications where multiple microphones are used in close proximity and feedback can be problematic. While an omnidirectional microphone picks up sound from various directions, the cardioid pattern focuses on a preferred pickup area. The particularly small capsule allows positioning so that the microphone does not have to sit directly in front of the mouth. The boom can be conveniently positioned at the corner of the mouth, thereby providing an unobtrusive appearance. The robust “Unbreakable Boom” can be bent 360°.
