An unusual Blüthner instrument from the period that experts call the “golden era” of German piano building is offered. Such examples are particularly valued by connoisseurs. The 190 cm-long Model 6 was manufactured in 1897; the model number is 48549. The instrument has been completely restored: all major parts were replaced or refurbished, while only the case remains original. It was refinished with an elegant black lacquer featuring a silky-matte surface. The sound retains Blüthner’s characteristic features — a warm, singing tone, powerful projection and a wide dynamic range. Playing such a grand piano is just as enjoyable as listening to it. The instrument’s value has been confirmed by a current expert appraisal and amounts to 21,500 euros. The grand piano was kept in very well-maintained private ownership by a family connected with the manufacture and repair of keyboard instruments. The sale is due to the owners’ relocation.
