The microphone features a completely redesigned preamplifier design with finer gain steps of 3 dB, an overall gain increased to a total of 42 dB, as well as a peak-hold function for the bar display. The electronics were comprehensively revised and equipped with new, improved components. This made it possible to optimise the noise performance. The conversion of the information captured by the four-capsule arrangement was also redeveloped, enabling more precise stereo and surround imaging. All inputs and outputs of the control unit are located on one side. This makes it easier to connect portable recorders, especially when used on location. The robust microphone weighs only 290 grams and can be used up to 200 metres from its associated control unit. The control box weighs 580 grams. With just one microphone, audio signals can be generated in all formats, including mono, stereo, M/S, 5.1 surround and others. Stereo and surround signals can be output simultaneously. The control unit is equipped on the front with an integrated headphone monitor and a bar display, and enables the familiar precise control of all microphone parameters.
