With the patented adapter, a condenser microphone with a diameter of approximately 22 mm – depending on the microphone type used – can be transformed into a directional, footfall-noise-isolated boundary layer microphone. Together with the microphone, the adapter is suitable for various applications: as a stage-edge microphone for tap dancing and spoken theatre, for small string ensembles or on the kick drum. The mounted lyres can be shifted in position. This allows microphones of different lengths to be used. In addition, another lyre for decoupling the cable is integrated. The Schildkröte is supplied in a high-quality wooden case. Microphones are not included in the delivery.
