The subsequent photocatalysis oxidises organic pollutants, viruses, bacteria, mould spores and odours using highly reactive oxygen compounds. Surrogate viruses and human coronaviruses were also examined in the same test environments, with reduction rates of up to 99.9% likewise documented. A report by Charité Berlin particularly positively assesses the interaction of HEPA filtration, UV-A-LED technology and a photocatalyst made of solid titanium dioxide.
