Description The DRM 4000 operates as a rack mixer and audio signal router with eight inputs and two outputs. Four MIC/LINE channels and four AUX channels are available. Each input can be flexibly routed to one output or simultaneously to both outputs. This enables both mono-to-two-channel operation and stereo use. Used as a pre-device for the DPM 4000, the number of available input channels can be expanded. Via the optionally available serial RS-232 interface, the device can be operated by PC or media control system. Possible functions include complete control of the routing functions, adjustment of the output levels, configuration and storage of presets, and preset switching. A connection with the DPM 4000 is established via the RS-485-Remote interface. In combination with the Designer software, routing, ducking, preset changes via macros, output levels, as well as the configuration and storage of presets can be controlled. The mixer and router can also be used independently as a stand-alone solution for straightforward sound reinforcement tasks. It is suitable, for example, for multimedia systems or simple announcement systems with background music. Other typical applications include sound reinforcement systems in conference rooms, multipurpose halls, event venues, clubs, catering establishments and churches. The four AUX input channels each have two Cinch connectors, while the four MIC/LINE channels are equipped with XLR sockets. Each input offers a volume control, Lo/Hi tone control, and green and red signal/peak LEDs for level monitoring. In addition, all MIC/LINE and AUX channels have direct outputs. Priority control with ducking function is available for MIC/LINE inputs 1 and 2. Triggering can be carried out via external contacts, via the signal level with a threshold adjustable on the front panel, or by remote control. LED indicators on the front panel provide information about the operating status. Both output channels are equipped with VCAs; two VCA control inputs A/B are provided for connecting external potentiometers for external volume control. Optional operation is possible via a serial interface for PC, DPM 4000 or media control system, as well as via control contacts. In addition, eight freely configurable external control inputs are available. They can be used for ducking of MIC/LINE 1 and 2, preset switching, routing, volume switching and mute. The device has CE approval as well as UL and CSA recognition. In conjunction with the PROMATRIX® system, it meets the requirements of EN 60849 and VDE 0828, respectively.
