Description

Demultiplexer for converting DMX to 4 analog 0–10-V outputs with mains disconnection. Current version with Triac load switches, prepared for up to 500 VA per channel. Further information: DAC4FLT-PDF The device was developed for additive color mixing with fluorescent tubes and was used, among other applications, for the “Transporter” lighting effect of the StarTrek World Tour. Four dimmable fluorescent tubes for RGB and white can be controlled, each with an electronic ballast (EVG). In addition, the connected loads can be completely switched off on the load side via zero-crossing switching Triacs. Many EVGs provide their own +10 V bias voltage at the control input, so operation is already possible with a simple potentiometer. The analog outputs are therefore designed with low impedance, deliver up to 55 mA and can control more than 50 EVGs per output over the entire control range. Summary of features: 4 analog 0–10-V outputs, each with 55 mA (-10 mV) 4 Triacs with zero-crossing switching 240 V~, 100 W (up to 500 W per channel in preparation) On: >20 Digit, approx. 800 mV Off: <10 Digit, approx. 400 mV Alternative version with relays 8 A/250 V in preparation Integrated test program without DMX: 9XY = Test X = channel 1, 2 or 3; Y = output voltage in 10 steps: 0 = 0 V, 1 = 1.1 V, 2 = 2.2 V … 9 = 10 V Status indicators for mains voltage and DMX signal Galvanic isolation of the DMX, analog and load sections Three-digit decimal DMX start address via rotary coding switches or 2-button coding switches Available with connectors as shown in Fig. 2, alternatively with cable gland or as a circuit board on a module carrier for DIN rail mounting.
