The Startube 4 HiRes was developed as a fluorescent background light for TV productions, theatres and other professional applications. Particularly in the lower dimming range of 0–10 %, it enables very uniform control, which many conventional LHGL systems fail to provide to the standards required by professional users. Four 36-W-T8 fluorescent tubes in red, green, blue and white are used. The white tube increases the basic brightness. If required, it can be replaced with a tube in another colour to adapt the light output to the respective requirements. High-resolution 16-bit electronics ensure smooth dimming from 0–100 %. The fluorescent tubes can also be preheated. This makes the unit particularly suitable for theatres and other applications where high-quality and precise dimming is required. RGBW colour mixing The additive RGBW colour mixing, together with the high resolution, enables homogeneous colour mixing with very high light output. Thanks to the short response time, fast chaser and strobe effects can also be realised. By simply changing the operating mode, the Startube 4 HiRes can be adapted to the dimming curve of the Startube 4. This keeps both units compatible with each other. Control Each individual tube can be controlled via its own DMX-512 channel. The DMX start address is set via the display mounted on the side. The lockable single-plug connection system simplifies and speeds up installation. Due to the low power consumption, up to 15 Startube-4-HiRes units can be operated in series via one Startube-4 power feeder on a 16-A phase. Flexible mounting Integrated M10 threaded sockets for attaching hooks, a Camlock quick-release system, a device for safety cables and removable feet facilitate use in touring applications. The housing is designed so that multiple units can be joined directly together both lengthwise and crosswise. In this way, large-area, continuous lighting surfaces can be created.
